External noise seeping in and internal conversations leaking out — both problems undermine the purpose of a meeting room. We design and build soundproof meeting rooms that provide genuine acoustic separation, ensuring your meetings are productive, private, and free from distraction.

The Difference Between Acoustic and Soundproof

Many meeting rooms are described as “acoustic” when they simply have a few wall panels. A truly soundproof room is engineered to prevent the transmission of sound through every element of the enclosure — walls, ceiling, floor, glazing, doors, and ventilation.

The key difference is measurable performance. A standard glass partition might achieve an Rw rating of 30–35 dB, meaning normal speech is clearly audible from outside. A properly specified soundproof room achieves Rw 40–50+ dB, at which point normal speech becomes inaudible.

Ceiling Treatment

Sound can travel over partition walls through the ceiling void. We address this by extending walls from the structural floor to the structural ceiling to close off the void, installing high-performance acoustic ceiling tiles with additional backing layers, and laying mass-loaded barrier matting over the ceiling grid.

Floor Isolation

Impact noise and vibration transfer through the floor structure. We install acoustic underlays beneath the finished floor to reduce impact transmission, and for the highest performance, floating floor systems that are mechanically isolated from the surrounding structure.

Acoustic Testing

We offer post-installation acoustic testing to verify performance. Using industry-standard equipment, we measure the DnT,w (Standardised Level Difference) between the meeting room and adjacent spaces, confirming that the specified sound reduction has been achieved.

Why Choose Linvex

Soundproofing is a specialist discipline. Our team has extensive experience building high-performance acoustic rooms for legal firms, healthcare providers, financial services companies, and government organisations. We do not just install partitions — we engineer complete acoustic enclosures that are tested and verified to perform.
